Controlled Air’s History
Harry Tepe founded Controlled Air, Inc. in the late 1950s as a manufacturer’s representative for HVAC equipment. He incorporated in 1961.
Harry worked from a downtown office until 1964. At that time, Harry joined forces with another rep, Irv Edwards. They continued to share office space and secretarial personnel into 1980. Through the 1970s, these offices were in the Nurre Brothers Building on Paddock Rd. Harry’s son Pat joined the firm in 1975 and was President until 2016. This began a new era for Controlled Air.
Based on customer feedback, Harry and Pat felt that warehousing product was needed in this area. To accomplish this, Controlled Air, Inc. moved again to Anthony Wayne Ave. in 1981. Two years after this move, Harry’s son Andy, now President, joined Harry and Pat and the company continued to grow into the next decade.
In 1991 Controlled Air, Inc. took occupancy of their new building on Mustafa Drive in Sharonville. To facilitate the continuing growth, new construction was started on Tramway Drive in 2000 and the move was made in 2002.
Today, Controlled Air has 14 full time employees, representing over 40 product lines. We are proud of our long history and will continue to serve our customers and represent our vendors with the hard work, dedication, and integrity we have always supplied.
